Bertha Creek Campground
Girdwood
The feel
Bertha Creek is a small loop of 12 sites in open forest, beside the confluence of Bertha and Granite creeks just south of Turnagain Pass. Steep mountains rise at its back, the slopes are ringed by avalanche chutes and covered in berries, and the Chugach peaks stay snowy above the creek. The sites suit vehicle camping, small RVs and tents, and each has a fire ring and a picnic table.
The camp makes a convenient base for berry picking, hiking, biking and exploring. Families can try gold panning on the unvegetated gravels along Bertha Creek.
