Homestead Trail
Homer
The feel
The Homestead Trail is rolling ridgetop doubletrack above Kachemak Bay, with glacier and volcano views on every climb. It starts on top of Baycrest Hill, crosses Diamond Ridge Road and follows Crossman Ridge to the Bridge Creek Reservoir, passing through forests and meadows and crossing streams.
The views take in Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay. The area is good for birding, and moose are occasionally seen.

Ride it between May and October. One listing gives it as 6 miles and rated moderate, so size it up first.
