Aspen Interpretive Trail

The feel

This is a signed loop on dirt and gravel through three distinct ecosystems of the boreal forest. Signs describe the animals, plants and fungi along the way, from black bear and moose to quaking aspen, black spruce, lowbush cranberry and wood frog.

Where the trail crosses streams or boggy ground, bridges or planks carry you over. It is part of a larger network of winter ski trails, so follow the red aspen leaf at the major intersections.
