Old Town Copper Center Inn & Restaurant
Copper Center
The feel
This is a family-run roadhouse restaurant on the site of the historic Copper Center Lodge, which was established in 1896 along the Richardson Trail. A fire destroyed the original lodge in 2012, though historic outbuildings remain, and the restaurant has a bar and lounge. Ownership has stayed with local families for more than 125 years.
The restaurant is Nummy's, named for the owner's grandmother, and it has served guests since 1948. Meals are homestyle and the atmosphere is relaxed. The inn sits between Valdez, McCarthy and Glennallen, minutes from Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and near the Copper and Klutina Rivers.
