Tonsina River Trail
The feel
The trail gently descends through dense spruce forest, then opens up into flowers and willow with patches of spruce and moss forest. About a half mile in it levels out, and that stretch can hold standing water after rain.
Another half mile south it turns west near the bluff. A berry and rose lined path leads in a few minutes to a flat, grassy bluff overlooking the Tonsina River. Bears are frequently seen in this area.
